Commitments

Clients often comment that it seems I’m always focused and grounded. I can assure you—these are not constant states! Being fully present is an ethical promise of being a Certified Leadership Coach and it’s one I take to heart. I’m not of service to anyone if I show up distracted and frazzled. I stay in condition to coach through the following practices:

Commitment to Quiet

In the spirit of practicing what I preach, I have fully internalized the importance of regularly making space to sit with myself. I choose between various reflective practices each morning to clear my mind and heart so that I can show up fully for my clients.

Commitment to Learning

“I believe I am able to coach others because I have had to work hard to learn what I have learned.”

Cindy Wigglesworth
SQ21: The 21 Skills of Spiritual Intelligence

This quote struck me powerfully in describing my background, the work I cherish, and my commitment to my own development. My dedication to continual learning keeps me in touch with what my clients are experiencing as they learn new things. It also means that I can regularly bring fresh approaches and tools to my work. I’m always working on something!

Commitment to Health

To me, living a healthy life means regularly attending to each of the domains that make us human: emotional, mental, physical and spiritual. I like to call this “capital H” health. My ability to deliver on my promises to clients rests on this commitment.
